England captain and star striker Harry Kane is unbothered with the Golden Boot as he only has eyes on the prize ahead of the European Championship (Euro) 2024 final against Spain which is set to be played at Olympiastadion Berlin on Sunday.
England are on a 58-year-old hunt to lift the Euros while Spain are looking for their first since 2012. La Roja are definitely the favourites due to their strong performances throughout the tournament but the Three Lions’ have enough talent to turn the tide at any moment of the game.
Kane has three goals in Euro 2024 so far, tied with Spain’s Dani Olmo and he would have a chance to win the Golden Boot too but the Englishman is only concerned with the trophy.
“Golden Boot? Ultimately, when you come this far in a tournament, you’re not thinking about the Golden Boot. You’re thinking about winning the championship and that’s all that matters. So, of course, as a striker, I’d love to score on Sunday but if someone else scores and we win, I’m not going to be disappointed,” Kane said as quoted by @iMiaSanMia.
Kane also added that he has received many messages from his teammates at Bayern Munich who extended their best wishes to him. The striker, who has never won a major trophy in his career so far, added that he would give everything to win the championship tomorrow.
”I’ve received a lot of messages from Munich from teammates and also from people on the staff at Bayern wishing me luck. It’s no secret that I haven’t won a team trophy yet - and the more years go by, the more motivated I am. Hopefully it will finally happen now,” said Kane. “I’d swap everything I’ve done in my career to have a special night and a win tomorrow evening.”
