KARACHI: Pakistan started their Asian U18 Volleyball Championship campaign with a win over South Korea in Bahrain.
The Green shirts bagged a 3-2 win. The scores for Pakistan's victory were 25-22, 23-25, 17-25, 25-20, and 13-15.
Pakistan will play their next match against India on Monday. They will play their last group game against Kuwait on July 30.
It must be noted that matches are taking place at the Bahrain Volleyball Association and Bahrain Table Tennis Association halls at Isa bin Rashid Sports City in Riffa.
The Pakistan team for the event includes Talal Ahmed, Abu Bakar, Muhammad Issam, Muhammad Hassan, Gibran Ajmal, Junaid Muttahed, Ali Shah, Muhammad Junaid, Muhammad Yahya, Muhammad Irfan, Muhammad Nasir, and Khizr Hayat.
In the current edition, 16 teams are divided into four groups. Group A includes Bahrain, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Australia. Group B comprises Japan, Chinese Taipei, Saudi Arabia, and Kazakhstan. Group C features Iran, China, Lebanon, and the Philippines. Group D consists of India, South Korea, Kuwait, and Pakistan.
