LAHORE: England’s all-rounder Tom Curran has signed up for the upcoming player draft of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 10, the franchise league announced on Wednesday.

The PSL made the announcement by sharing a compilation video of Curran’s wickets during his stint for three-time champions Islamabad United on its social media handles.

“English All-rounder Tom Curran has officially signed up for the HBL PSL Draft,” the franchise league wrote.

Curran, who represented England in two Tests, 28 ODIs and 30 T20Is, last represented the country in the shortest format against Pakistan in July 2021.

The all-rounder, however, has emerged one of the most demanded players in franchise leagues across the world with a glittering T20 career, comprised of 214 matches, in which he scored 1970 runs, coupled with 229 wickets.

Curran, however, featured in PSL only once, when he represented United in the 2023 edition, where he picked up eight wickets in five matches and accumulated 21 runs.

For the unversed, Curran became the third English and sixth overall foreign player to sign up for the highly-anticipated players draft, joining compatriots Jason Roy and David Willey, Australia’s Usman Khawaja, Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza and Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman.

It is pertinent to mention that a PSL player draft will be held in Balochistan for the first time since the inception of the marquee league.

As per the announcement, the PSL 10 player draft will take place in Gwadar, the port city of Pakistan's largest province, on January 11, 2025.

The pick order for the highly-anticipated player draft has also been announced, with two-time champions Lahore Qalandars making the first pick in the opening round of the platinum category, followed by arch-rivals Karachi Kings.

2019 champions Quetta Gladiators will make the third pick, while Peshawar Zalmi will have the fourth.

Last season’s runners-up, Multan Sultans, and reigning champions United will make the fifth and sixth picks, respectively.
