Pakistan’s shooting trio confident of winning medal in Paris Olympics

The three shooters finalised for the Paris Olympics 2024 have completed their preparations during the training camp in Lahore and are confident of winning a medal for winning in Shooting competitions.

Kishmala Talat, GM Bashir and Gulfam Joseph will be in action for Pakistan and they have trained under a Russian coach. All three shooters won various medals at different international tournaments and managed to earn a direct qualification for the Paris Olympics.

Kushmala Talat will participate in three events, she will be in action in 10m Air Pistol, 10m Air Pistol Mixed and 25m Sport Pistol.

“It is an honour for me that I have qualified and will be representing Pakistan in the Olympics. I have practised a lot in the [training] camp and have made myself strong mentally and physically. With all the training, I’m confident of winning the medal,” she said.

Meanwhile, GM Bashir will be in action in the 25m rapid-fire pistol event. Ahead of the event, he said, “During the camp, I practised not only my shooting skills, but I was also working on myself to remain as fit as possible. That is why we keep doing running and swimming, we also did exercises to our heart rates low.”

Gulfam Joseph will be in action in the 10m air pistol, while he will also participate in the mixed event with Talat.

Pakistani shooters will leave for France on July 19 and they will also get a chance to train at the venue before the competitions.
