The fifth edition of the Lanka Premier League - LPL 2024 has reached the critical stage as one team's journey ends and four teams advance to the playoffs following the conclusion of the league phase on Tuesday, with the Dambulla Sixers defeating the Colombo Strikers.
In the five-team tournament, each team faced the others in a double round-robin format. The top four teams at the end of the league phase earned a spot in the LPL playoffs, where they will compete in four additional matches.
In the LPL playoffs, the top two teams meet in Qualifier 1, with the winner advancing directly to the final. The loser gets another chance to reach the summit clash via Qualifier 2, where they will face the winner of the Eliminator, contested between the 3rd and 4th placed sides.
Galle Marvels, Jaffna Kings, Colombo Strikers, and Kandy Falcons have confirmed their spots in the top four. While the Marvels, Kings, and Strikers secured their places early, the Falcons' spot was confirmed after the Dambulla Sixers failed to overtake them in their final league match.
The Lanka Premier League 2024 playoffs will be held fro July 18 to 21with all four matches set to take place at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
