UEFA has confirmed its team of the tournament for Euro 2024, featuring six Spanish internationals and England’s Kyle Walker.

Walker is chosen at right-back, the only player from the defeated England finalists to be included. The team also features two players from France, and one each from Germany and Switzerland.

Spanish wide forwards Nico Williams and Lamine Yamal are included, alongside left-back Marc Cucurella and their midfield trio of Rodri, Dani Olmo, and Fabian Ruiz. Rodri and Yamal were already named player and young player of the tournament respectively, following Sunday’s final, in which Spain beat England 2-1.

France goalkeeper Mike Maignan, who helped his team reach the semi-finals, is included alongside his teammate William Saliba, with Switzerland’s Manuel Akanji as the other central defender.

Germany’s Jamal Musiala is the sole player from the host nation — who were eliminated in a quarter-final defeat to Spain — to be selected.

The team was chosen by UEFA’s technical observer team, consisting of 12 former players and managers, both past and present, including Rafael Benitez, Frank de Boer, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and David Moyes.
