JOHANNESBURG: Mohammad Rizwan-led Pakistan squad reached here on Friday ahead of the final ODI of the ongoing three-match series, scheduled to be played here at The Wanderers Stadium on Sunday.
According to the details, the national squad reached here on Friday afternoon for the third fixture as they aim to register their first-ever series whitewash against the Proteas Men in the format.
Upon their arrival here, the green shirts will rest today and will engage in a practice session on Saturday afternoon.
For the unversed, Pakistan have an unassailable 2-0 lead in the ongoing series, courtesy of their 81-run victory in the second ODI on Thursday.
The series victory marked Pakistan's third triumph on South African soil, following their successes in 2013 and 2021.
As a result, the green shirts drew level with Australia, who were the only side to secure three ODI series victories over South Africa at their home ground, which came in 1997, 2002 and 2011.
Prior to this, Pakistan won ODI series against Zimbabwe and Australia at their backyard, reinstating their position as one of the top sides in the format just months before the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy.
