BRISBANE: The inaugural day of the third Test between Australia and India was hindered by persistent rain, which allowed only 13.2 overs here at the Gabba on Saturday.
The weather proved relentless, ending the day within 14 overs.
The day had nothing for the cricket fans as only 28 runs were scored before day was called off due to unfavourable weather conditions.
Sent into bat first, Australia had their openers Usman Khawaja (19*) and Nathan McSweeney (4*) not out.
India were unable to bag wickets on the first day of the third Test.
Alongside Akash Deep, Ravindra Jadeja made his first appearance in the series, replacing spinner Ravichandran Ashwin.
