KARACHI: Pakistan Television’s (PTV) Taimur Khan played a match-winning knock of an unbeaten 108 off 106 balls to guide his team to a thrilling four-wicket victory over Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) on the fourth and final day at the HPC Oval Ground.
PTV successfully chased a challenging target of 335 in 67 overs, with little time remaining in the day.
PTV had found themselves struggling at 122-5, but Taimur, joined by captain Amad Butt, turned the game around with a solid 210-run partnership for the sixth wicket.
Amad fell just six runs short of a century, scoring 94 off 120 balls, including nine fours and one six.
Taimur, batting at No. 6, smashed nine fours and six sixes in his match-winning knock.
Earlier, SNGPL, who had resumed their second innings on 241-5, could only add 20 more runs before being bowled out for 261 in 62 overs.
In other action, Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) defeated State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) by 128 runs at the SBP Sports Complex.
SBP, chasing a target of 369, resumed from 84-2 but were dismissed for 240-9, with Fawad Alam’s 106 off 242 balls being the highlight.
Mushtaq Ahmed was the standout bowler for OGDCL, claiming four wickets.
Meanwhile, Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) triumphed over Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) by 290 runs at the NBP Sports Complex. KRL, chasing a mammoth target of 431, were bowled out for 140 in their second innings.
Mohammad Adil and Khalid Usman led the way with the ball, picking up key wickets.
At the National Bank Stadium, Eshaal Associates registered a dominant 192-run victory over the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
After posting 341 and 288-8 in their two innings, Eshaal’s bowlers, led by Usman Tariq’s maiden five-wicket haul, dismissed HEC for 224 and 213.
