LAHORE: Shadab Khan, Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi were among the standout performers recognized in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Fans' Choice Awards for their exceptional contributions to the tournament.

Islamabad United captain Shadab Khan was crowned the Best All-Rounder and the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the league.

His all-round performances played a crucial role in leading United to their third PSL title.

Shadab amassed 305 runs and took 14 wickets in the 2024 edition, earning him the Player of the Tournament award.

Throughout his PSL career, Shadab has accumulated 1,240 runs and 91 wickets in 84 matches, cementing his place as one of the league's finest players.

Former Pakistan captain and current Peshawar Zalmi leader Babar Azam was named the Best Batter of the PSL for his remarkable consistency with the bat.

The 30-year-old is the highest run-scorer in PSL history, having scored 3,504 runs in 90 matches.

He played a vital role in Karachi Kings’ title-winning campaign in 2020, where his match-winning performances, including the final against Lahore Qalandars, earned him the Player of the Tournament honor.

Lahore Qalandars captain Shaheen Afridi was awarded the Best Bowler for his exceptional skills, particularly highlighted by his incredible spell of 5/4 against Multan Sultans in the 2018 edition.

In that season, Shaheen claimed 13 wickets in nine matches and emerged as one of the top wicket-takers.

His leadership and performances have been instrumental in Qalandars winning back-to-back PSL titles, making him a force to reckon with in the tournament.

Former England cricketer Jason Roy was honored for delivering the Best Individual Batting Performance in PSL history.

Representing Quetta Gladiators in 2023, Roy smashed an unbeaten 145 runs against Peshawar Zalmi, guiding his team to chase down a massive 241-run target in just 18.2 overs—a feat that remains etched in PSL history.

Meanwhile, former West Indies captain and current head coach of Peshawar Zalmi Daren Sammy was named the Icon Player in recognition of his contributions to the league.

Sammy led Zalmi to their first PSL title in 2017 with a memorable victory over Quetta Gladiators and has since become a symbol of the PSL’s global appeal and spirit.

It is pertinent to mention that the PSL 10 draft concluded today at Hazoori Bagh, Lahore, where players like David Warner, Kane Williamson and others successfully grabbed the attention of the franchise owners.

The tournament is set to kick off in the April-May window, with details regarding the venues and schedule yet to be revealed.
